Unconventional magnon excitation by off-resonant microwaves

It is widely recognized that a physical system can respond to periodic driving significantly only when the frequency matches normal mode of system, which leads resonance. Off-resonant phenomena are rarely considered because difficulty realize strong coupling between systems and off-resonant waves. Here we examine response magnetic squeezed light surprisingly find magnons maximally excited effective several orders magnitude larger than resonant frequency. The generated squeezed, brings advantage tunable squeezing through an external field. Furthermore, demonstrate such quasiparticle excitation universal in all hybrid coherent parametric interaction bosons exists it purely quantum effect, rooted fluctuations particles vacuum. Our findings may provide unconventional route study further benefit use matter-light continuous-variable information.
